I'm looking at getting a set of 9mm/4 monkeyfists from the shop but I can't see any specs for them. Does anyone know the weight and lengths (total and chain) of them?

Hey dude!
Well I personally haven't used this particular set. I've used the next size up which is bloody chunky! Can do your arms in if you haven't warmed up etc!
The ones I got which is the 3 / 13mm set were pretty bloody heavy in comparison with your normal Poi. But seeing as your thickness is only a couple of mil less but having that extra wrap. I'm under the assumption that it'll be roughly the same size/weight!
In which case, if memory serves, the chain should be 45-50cm and the ball should be the equivalent weight of maybe a sock crammed full of pennies!! :D
Really weighty but once you get the hang of them it's fine. Plus the flame is absolutely immense!

Thanks for that, gonna have to wait until I get home to compare the 45-50 with my current poi. That sounds pretty long, is there anyway to shorten them if I need to?
I find heavy poi easier to spin, they have lots of momentum, so you can concentrate on keeping/changing planes as opposed to trying to keep them spinning! |

Mwahahaha! Got my new poi today
Havn't spun the monkeyfists in anger yet, had a quick go dry to get the feel, they're certainly a lot heavier than anything else I have! Gonna be a workout on the arms for sure.
All I gotta do now is find a dry evening to burn |
